The Brighton and Hove Food Partnership embarked on a remarkable journey in early 2018 to establish a community kitchen within the Brighton Community Base. MacConvilles played a pivotal role in making this dream a reality, providing their time and expertise free of charge for this worthy community project. Cheesmur is thrilled to be a part of "A Slice of Brighton," the incredible recipe book created by the sixth-form lead team at Brighton Girls, a GDST school.
This initiative holds a special place in our hearts, as Cheesmur had the privilege of working with The Brighton and Hove Food Partnership to build their "Community Kitchen" on Queens Road. The project involved converting an office space into a functional kitchen to create a lively centre for culinary education.
The kitchen offers essential cooking classes to individuals facing challenges, including social isolation, health conditions, vulnerability, and low incomes. We encourage everyone to get their hands on this cookbook. Together, we can celebrate the culinary spirit of Brighton and support the Community Kitchen in its mission to nourish and empower our community.
